FINAL RESULTS!
JULY 9TH, 2009 HALFWAY - KUTA BEACH, BALI

The Championships of the Volcom Stone's Totally Crustaceous Tour, or simply the VQS (Volcom Qualifying Series) Championships, is the final held after the 5 events held during the 2008/2009 season. It’s kicked off the Halfway, Kuta Beach,Bali on Sunday, July 5th 2009 in the morning at 7.45 am.
The themes for this year event is “HillBilly” style which is everyone could feels like they were in American back country with the country music was played during the event. Vee Haww….yupp,, “Vee Haw" is the themes for Volcom Stone’s 2009 Surfing Championship.
So, Veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaawwwwww…!!!!!



The top 12 kids from each area qualify for the champs. There were 60 young best qualifiers in total, with kids from all over Bali - Kuta, Sanur, Pecatu, Medewi and Cimaja-West Java.

The coolest part is..it’s totally free!! every single contest follows the free beach entry format, and there's loads of money and prizes given out.
The winners go home with cash money with total 15 million rupiahs, bikes, and all sorts of things. One thing, also one free trip (all paid) to California USA to joining VQS World Championship 2010!

Even the weather is really hot, the young surfer still enthusiastic to finishing the competition with the height of waves around 1-2 ft. in Halfway Kuta.


The first contest starts from 14 & under division in Grom division at 7.45am. The full maneuver from Jeren-Canggu (Kuta-Bali) is absolutely going nuts until final.
Jeren was succeed to win the 1st place and get the take home pay Rp. 1.750.000 and a one low ride bike.

For the 17 & under division, was dominated by Darma Putra from Legian-Bali. This young surfer had got the best point all day long.
He showed his powerful radical maneuver and also choosed the perfect waves. Darma Putra is the 1st winner for this division and got cash money about Rp. 2.000.000 plus low ride bike

And Pro Am division is the most interesting competition to watch. All of them tried to grabbed the waves to win the first price. Which is it’s a Totally Free Trip to USA!!! In that competition, Garut And Mustofa battled non-stop. But in the end, Garut got the highest point at his 3rd wave that was send him to be The Champion of 2009, with the cash money Rp. 2.500.000 as price, he also got trip to America!!!

According to “Garut” statement that he really-really wanted to go to VQS World Championship in USA would become true, since he was failed last year at final competition, so he was firering!!!!

The audience were consoled with the fun games of lucky shoot and lucky rings. The contest area and activities for everyone not in a heat, and it is littered with overalls.
After the Final, the crowd went even more nuts when giveaways is closing the event for that day.

2nd Mustofa Jeksen – Kuta, Bali

3rd I Ketut Yoga Semadhi – Pecatu, Bali

4th Agus Sumertta Yasa – Pecatu, Bali

17 & Under Division

1st Darma Putra – Legian, Bali

2nd Putu Anggara – Nusa Lembongan, Bali

3rd I Wayan Tia Nustawan – Nusa Lembongan, Bali

4th Kadek Merta Yasa


14 & Under Division

1st Jeren – Canggu ,Bali

2nd Andre Julian – Cimaja, Jawa Barat

3rd Puji Swartika – Sanur, Bali

4th Ryan Hidayat – Cimaja, West Java
